Content & Impact Communicator

At Gözlemevi – Turkey’s Observatory, we are dedicated to promoting freedoms and democracy in the digital. We conduct capacity building activities for journalists through our flagship algorithmic empowerment program and provide training related to issues intersecting technology and democracies.

The Content & Impact Communicator at Gözlemevi is at the heart of our mission to translate the intricacies of the technology ecosystem into digestible content for a wider audience. Your primary role will be to interpret complex research findings and news, transforming them into clear, engaging, and impactful communications that resonate with society at large.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily monitoring and curation of relevant news, research findings, and developments within the technology ecosystem.
• Identify trends and emerging technologies that align with Gözlemevi's mission and objectives.
• Read and dissect complex research reports, transforming them into engaging and easily understood content pieces.
• Create a diverse range of content including articles, infographics, and more to cater to various audience segments.
• Regularly communicate Gözlemevi's mission and messages in digestible formats, ensuring consistency and repetition for better societal understanding.
• Keep the team informed about crucial developments, potential risks, or collaboration opportunities within the tech ecosystem.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in any field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technology content creation, research interpretation, and public communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. You should be able to work effectively with researchers, journalists, and other members of the team, contributing to the organization’s overall goals and objectives. You should also be able to provide constructive feedback to others and be receptive to feedback on your own work.
• Proficiency in English and Turkish. You should be fluent in both languages and be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken forms. You should also have a strong knowledge of grammar, syntax, and punctuation in both languages.
• Exceptional content creation skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear and engaging narratives.
• Strong analytical skills with the capacity to dissect and interpret technological research.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in content creation tools and platforms.
• Fluency in English.
