Technology Policy Fellow

At Gözlemevi - Turkey's Observatory, we are a responsible technology organization dedicated to promoting freedoms and democracy in the digital era. Our flagship program, Algorithmic Empowerment, helps journalists enhance their skills to report on issues related to technology and democracy. We are passionate about empowering the next generation of technology policy leaders and are looking for a talented and motivated undergraduate intern to join our team as a Technology Policy Fellow.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Technology Policy Fellow, you will:

Research and analyze emerging issues at the intersection of law, technology, and policy, with a focus on digital rights, privacy, and data governance.

Assist in the development of policy recommendations, position papers, and public-facing materials on key technology policy issues.

Support the Algorithmic Empowerment program by helping to create educational resources and training materials for journalists.

Attend meetings and events related to technology policy, representing Gözlemevi and networking with other professionals in the field.

Collaborate with team members on cross-disciplinary projects to promote a deeper understanding of technology's impact on society.

 

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Computer Science, or a related field. (We are quite flexible on this.)

A strong interest in the intersection of law, technology, and policy.

Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.

Adept at working independently and as part of a team.

Fluent in English; proficiency in Turkish is a plus but not required.
